Position Overview:
The Moore Vintage Archive is seeking dynamic sales assistants to work out of our Queen Village retail store. This role requires a keen eye for fashion trends, strong organizational skills, and a passion for vintage and unique items.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome customers with a warm and professional demeanor, creating a positive first impression.
- Assist customers in locating and selecting vintage items, providing information about the history and uniqueness of various vintage pieces
- Build rapport with customers to understand their tastes and provide tailored recommendations
- Greet and engage customers in conversation and enhance their overall shopping experience.
- Assist with livestream sales, digital marketplace sales, e-commerce sales, e-commerce product uploads and packing/shipping orders
- Assist in receiving, tagging, and pricing new inventory.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with periodic inventory counts.
- Keep the store clean, organized, and visually appealing at all times.
- Dust, vacuum, and arrange displays to maintain a tidy and attractive environment.
- Ensure that all signage and price tags are accurate and visible.
- Process transactions accurately through the point-of-sale system, handling cash, credit, and other payment methods.
- Assist with multi-channel social media content production
- Assist with trade show preparation and execution
Product Knowledge:
- Develop a deep understanding of the vintage items available in the store, including their historical significance, materials, and styles.
- Stay up-to-date with fashion trends and historical contexts related to vintage clothing and accessories.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other shop assistants and store management to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive work environment.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues regarding inventory levels, customer feedback, and any issues that arise.
Qualifications:
- Previous retail or customer service experience, especially in a vintage or secondhand store, is preferred.
- Knowledge and passion for vintage fashion and accessories.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transactions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes or objects of moderate weight.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
