George Stavropoulos Strapless Chiffon Gown c. 1970
George Stavropoulos was a Greece-born, New York-based designer working from 1960-1990. His eveningwear won him a huge following of socialites and celebrities including Lady Bird Johnson, Elizabeth Taylor and Maria Callas.
This minimal sleeveless gown is crafted from layers of embroidered silk-chiffon and features a dramatic layered handkerchief hem.
