Hanae Mori for Frances Heffernan Winnetka Silk Chiffon Floral Print Gown c. 1970
Hanae Mori is truly a revolutionary designer. She is the only Japanese woman to have presented her collections on the runways of Paris and New York, and the first Asian woman to be admitted as an official haute couture design house by the fédération française de la couture in France.
This stunning gown from early on in her career features one of the designers painterly prints. The dress is composed of a silky nylon lining slip and silk chiffon overlay with dramatic sleeve.
