Before the 1970s, Louis Vuitton only made its bags in France, but due to the dramatic increase in demand from the US, the fashion house enlisted the help of US luggage specialists, The French Luggage Company or TFLC. Thus from 1976, TFLC worked with Louis Vuitton for almost 30 years, manufacturing bags under a special license. The bags were all made and sold in the US in high-end department stores.
